The Director, Planning Continuous Improvement is responsible for the North America Laundry & Home Care material planning inventory across raw materials, packaging, finished goods and production planning. The Director will drive materials inventory management and support the global materials strategy for 2017/2018 to reach significant Inventory reduction goals over the next 3 years. This will include performance and target delivery to Henkel Global Supply Chain. The Director will manage the activities of 1-2 team members.

The Director partners with Manufacturing, Procurement, Materials Planning, the Shared Service Center, Customer Operations and other key business partners in Logistics/Warehousing, Master Data/Systems and Project Inventory Management teams to achieve desired reduction goals.

What we offer

  • Drive consignment opportunities for Sun Products contracts working cross functionally with Global Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Leadership and support through OneGSC! as well as critical projects for 2017 and beyond
  • Work directly with 4 manufacturing plants on inventory days coverage and MRP execution
  • Work with Master Planning Director to build 5 year raw and pack inventory strategy.
  • Drive management of raw and pack mix and exception management and issue resolution
  • Drive inventory reporting and awareness with end target for 2020 to NES inventory level
  • Build cross functional linkage with global procurement and global supply chain
  • Work with global procurement on consignment Inventory projects and mold management
  • Alignment with contract manufacturing planning team for material requirements for contract management and inventory impacts
  • Build critical materials planning alert process with plant.
  • Drive S&OP supply review for assigned P&L line management
  • Work direct with finished goods management to ensure promotional materials are available and in alignment with production requirements and run strategy
  • Work directly with shared service integration into master planning
  • Work directly with R&D on formula/material/ packaging consolidation opportunities
  • Interface with logistics on inbound opportunities for further freight savings
  • Own and manage the S&OP cycle, calendar, continuous improvement and global process alignment to support NA S&OP maturity

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum of 10 years mastery of the supply/material planning process, including demonstrated leadership experience
  • Proven results in driving inventory reduction via cross functional relationships 
  • Track record of building successful vendor relationships to support demand/supply material balance
  • Exceptional leadership and demonstrated track record of building and developing high performing teams
  • Clear ability to communicate transparently and escalate issues as needed
  • Ability to travel upwards of 30% when necessary
