Under minimal supervision, identifies, develops, and implements new and/or improved processes for manufacturing current and/or new products in our production environments. Basic responsibility is receiving products in a Research and Development status, performing all process development functions, and transferring new products with capable key processes to our manufacturing facilities. Continually troubleshooting and improves process to increase up time, yield, and quality.

What we offer

  • Works alongside R and D personnel in an effort to understand the pre-production processes used to prepare low volume or pre-production material quantities. An understanding of these methods is crucial for new products into volume manufacturing.
  • Participates with plant engineering functions in specifying and selection of new equipment and/or equipment necessary for supporting new product requirements. This responsibility includes assisting with the preparation of machine specifications and capital justification.
  • Participates with plant engineering functions in the installation of new equipment and/or the modification of existing equipment for running products. Specific areas of responsibility include:
  • Confirmation machine is CAPABLE of maintaining these critical process requirements consistently from run to run (Process Capability Studies).
  • Creating machine specifications specific to setting-up, operating, and shutting down new and/or modified processing equipment as it relates to a new product.
  • The identification of material related critical characteristics, setting target values, and establishing upper and lower control limits.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from accredited college or university; B.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 1-2 years of applicable experience or 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in scale-up and product development is preferred.
  • Experience with twin screw extruders and process development is preferred.
  • Experience with highly filled materials is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of rheology.
