We are seeking a Process & Safety Engineer to join our consumer adhesives manufacturing plant in LaGrange, GA.  We offer excellent benefits and bonus opportunity.  This position will work Monday-Friday days with occasional need for off shift hours.  Come join our great team!

What we offer

  • Manage and administer environmental compliance and reporting including the following: a state air permit, Spill Prevention and Control Plan, Storm water management plan, Hazardous waste program (small quantity generator), Tier 2 reporting, SARA reporting, sustainability plan and reporting.
  • The site must adhere to ISO 14001 (17 elements) & OHSAS 18001 (19 elements) certifications that must be managed and maintained, included in these are Risk Assessments, Significant environmental aspects, objectives and targets, monitoring and measurement etc. Participate in SHE site audits and associated findings/OFI, as well as ensuring timely preventive and corrective actions are taken to close audit findings.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in all areas of the site operation, develop project proposals, and lead or facilitate improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP’s) methods and standards for all manufacturing activities.
  • Create and maintain SOP’s in support of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certifications.
  • Prepare capital requests and implement when approved.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science or related degree (Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer).
  • Solid working knowledge of polymer production processes strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, polymer manufacturing preferred including SHE/Regulatory compliance experience (preferred), methods/standards development, plant/process layout, capital equipment justification and implementation, cost estimating.
  • Prefer familiarity with OSHA’s Process Safety Management Program, Environmental Permit management, General Industrial Safety, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates leadership, problem solving and conflict management skills (horizontal and vertical). Excellent problem solving skills, root cause analysis and incident investigation.
  • Must be able to embrace/drive change through implementation of Henkel SHE policies and procedures
