The Materials Manager will monitor and support the physical and systematic flow of production and inventory activities ,including raw materials, components, work in process, and finished goods throughout the Henkel Woodruff, Archdale and Memphis production facilities. The Materials Manager will also manage a team of three direct reports, and nine indirect reports.


What we offer

  • Manages and coordinates flow of goods through receiving, warehousing, production, and shipping functions to ensure on-time delivery to and from manufacturing departments.
  • Monitors and maintains material usage variances affiliated with production activities. Input on applicable corrective actions to identified root causes.
  • Monitors and maintains SAP inventory activities.
  • Monitors and maintains cycle count program within the production facilities.  
  • Works with the Materials and Production Planners to reduce lead-times, inventory investment, and to eliminate recurring service problems related to procurement activities.
  • Establishes and maintains procedures and work instructions for his/her departments to ensure compliance with applicable Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Assists in preparation of departmental expense and capital budgets.  Monitors spending against these budgets.  
  • Serve as a back-up to the Production Planner, Materials Planner, and Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Supports the activities of the third party warehouses responsible for the raw material storage and finished goods shipments.

  • Minimum of 20% travel may be required

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. 

  • Prior demonstrated managerial experience is required. 

  • 5+ years experience in materials management related functions within a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Strong SAP skills required.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).
