Manufacturing Mechanic, Aerosol

YOUR ROLE

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain all packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Conducts line changeovers and makes necessary set-up and adjustments as required by the production schedule.
  • Perform line alteration, rebuilding as necessary.
  • Assist Engineering on equipment installations.
  • Repair and fabricate parts as required.
  • Oil, lubricate, and check equipment and production lines.
  • Maintenance of filling line and safety documentation of the aerosol area and equipment; participate in the continual update of the long-range packaging plan.
  • Operate forklift trucks, if certified, to move equipment or materials.
  • Support safety, quality, and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Keep accurate records of day to day activities within the area.
  • Identify priorities and opportunities for continuous improvement and resolve problems within the packaging area.
  • Assist and train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance tasks. 

YOUR SKILLS

  • High School graduate equivalent, ability to read blueprints, posses mechanical skills and work experience.
  • Provide own hand tools. Initiative/motivation and communication skill required.
  • This position has safety requirements that exceed that of typical manufacturing areas.
  • Due to the heightened safety sensitivity in the aerosol area, employees must wear only cotton clothing and must wear Electro-Static Dissipative (ESD) shoes or bootstraps.
  • No cell phones, pagers, radios, or other electronic devices will be allowed in the aerosol area.
  • No lighters, matches, open flames, or any spark-generating device will be allowed in the aerosol area.
  • Work OT as needed.
  • Employees working in the aerosol area will receive special training and must pass a written test to ensure retention of the information covered before they will be allowed to work in the aerosol area.
