Utility Technician - 1st Shift-Geneva, NY

Diagnose, maintain, construct, and install all plant mechanical, operational, and facilities equipment and systems utilizing various hand and power tools. 

  • Lead and report to SHE and Engineering Department(s) compliance activity and document as it relates to building safety systems, including, but not limited to fire safety, chilled water system and boiler system. 
  • Examine machinery or mechanical equipment and identify malfunctions and recommend alternatives to resolve problems. 
  • Complete maintenance repair projects involved with plumbing, welding, machinery disassembly, reassembly and repair validation with minimal supervision. 
  • Lead repair and PM activities of facility equipment and critical utility systems. Develop and maintain risk assessments for critical systems along with calibration logs to ensure high reliability. 
  • Respond to and assist during plant emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team. Lead fire panel operation and communication within plant.


  • High school diploma or its equivalent required. 
  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required. 
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in the mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are preferred and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
