3 Learnings from Amanda Schwartz

Amanda Schwartz

Job Title: Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs Intern

Duration: 3 months

Business Unit: Beauty Care

Three words to describe your internship experience:
unique, impactful, exploratory

What is the greatest learning you will take home after your internship at Henkel?
The biggest thing I have learned during my internship is exactly how much time and paperwork goes into being able to create and sell a product. I have never worked outside of a lab before, and this position gave me an entirely new perspective and a bigger picture of what happens after a formula is created. There is a lot of collaboration amongst different departments to combine all the necessary information for each product to prove and ensure they are within regulatory requirements, and familiarizing myself with this process and these regulations will better prepare me for any job I take on in the future.

Being an intern at Henkel, what do you like most about it?
I most enjoyed my monthly team meetings with my team. It was super fun to discuss new regulations, hear about all the projects everyone was working on, and build connections with my coworkers, which was super important to me in a virtual environment.

What is unique about working at Henkel?
Henkel is unique in that we truly care about sustainability and have implemented concrete plans to prove it. Henkel is avidly reducing our carbon footprint and expresses the importance of human rights, not only with our own production but all throughout our supply chain as well. Henkel urges every employee to become a sustainability ambassador, with provided training on how to make a difference in the workplace and the community. It is very rewarding to be able to work for a company that holds the same passions and values that I do.
