Employee Resource Groups ‏(ERGs) are an important part of company culture. They help build community and engage different perspectives with the goal of encouraging positive change within and outside of the company.

In our Spotlight on ERG series, learn about our 17 ERGs across Henkel North America with over 1,000 employees participating and helping us build an inclusive environment and spirit of belonging. Together we are advancing our DEI priorities.

About ¡Unidos!

 ¡Unidos! is the Hispanic/Latinx ERG at Henkel. With a mission to give every Henkel employee the opportunity to connect and thrive by celebrating and harnessing the strength of the Hispanic/Latino community, ¡Unidos! offers opportunities to network and collaborate.

¡Unidos! means “together,” so it is fitting that our ¡Unidos! ERG shares Henkel’s belief that joining together to celebrate the richness of our cultures and contributions will lead to a stronger and more inclusive Henkel. ¡Unidos! facilitates personal growth opportunities that help build leadership skills, public speaking, project management and networking.

As a “kick-off” to Hispanic Heritage Month, the ¡Unidos! and PRIDE ERGs collaborated to host Mariachi Arcoiris, the first LGBTQ+ Mariachi in the world, at Henkel’s Culver City, CA location.

The ¡Unidos! ERG organized an event about inclusive leadership for employees with Dr. Stephanie Johnson, Associate Professor, CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. Dr. Johnson is the author of the national bestseller, Inclusify: The Power of Uniqueness and Belonging to Build Innovative Teams.

Henkel recently held an ERG symposium, bringing together ERG leaders across Henkel North America. The event was an opportunity to network and plan for the future to strengthen DEI efforts. Here, ¡Unidos! ERG members pose with leaders from the Henkel North America executive team.

When we say ‘every Henkel employee,’ we truly mean every Henkel employee. As much as we are an ERG focused on the Latino/Hispanic community at Henkel, we make a concerted effort to draw in those outside these groups to engage with us. To learn from us and in turn, we learn from them too.
