Henkel, a global leader in adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, will showcase a cohesive suite of material science innovations at The Battery Show North America 2026 - focused on accelerating time-to-market, enabling design flexibility, boosting range and advancing the circular economy.
Loctite® Solve – Simulation-Ready Material Data Cards
Live demonstrations will feature this simulation platform, which is designed to help reduce reliance on physical prototyping and shorten development cycles. Powered by simulation-ready material data cards, the tool can provide mechanical, thermal and viscoelastic property data for use in standard computer-aided engineering environments, helping automotive designers evaluate interfacial stress, adhesive fatigue and crashworthiness.
Battery Specialty Tapes – Expanding Performance and Design Flexibility
With Battery Specialty Tapes, Henkel expands its portfolio beyond liquid adhesives by introducing a complementary range of specialty tape solutions. The portfolio includes water-based technologies formulated with reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) content compared with Henkel’s applicable solvent-based alternatives. Specialty tape samples and representative application uses will be featured.
Lightweight Battery Solutions – Integration of Thermoplastics to Increase Energy Efficiency
Henkel’s adhesive solutions support the transition to lightweight battery architectures, including designs using thermoplastic composite substrates. Depending on the selected materials, component design and application, these solutions may support weight reduction while helping maintain structural integrity, thermal performance and safety, which may contribute to improved energy efficiency and vehicle range. Adhesive samples supporting the integration of thermoplastic composite substrates will be displayed.
Debonding-on-Demand - Supporting Disassembly and Circular Design
Henkel will offer live demonstrations of its thermal and electrical debonding-on-demand capabilities, which are designed to facilitate component disassembly and may support repair, reuse or recycling where suitable recovery processes are available. Electrical debonding applies a controlled voltage to reduce bond strength, while thermal debonding uses localized heat to detach components under defined process conditions.
Conductive Coatings - Supporting Cell Performance
Henkel will feature its latest battery conductive coatings designed to support cell performance by promoting electrode adhesion and conductivity. Formulated to provide exceptional adhesion between battery current collectors and active material films, these coatings play a dual role in both traditional wet-slurry and emerging dry-electrode manufacturing processes, subject to product specifications and application requirements.
