- Microbiological Analysis: Proficiency in performing tests to detect and quantify bacteria, fungi, and yeasts in raw materials, process water, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Laboratory Techniques: Experience in preparing culture media, dilutions, Gram staining, inoculation, and identification of pathogenic microorganisms (such as E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, among others).
- Equipment Handling: Competent use of microscopes, autoclaves, incubators, water purification systems, and other relevant laboratory equipment.
- Results Interpretation: Ability to accurately analyze, record, and present data, determining whether microbial levels meet established limits.
- Method Validation: Knowledge of developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and validation reports.
- Regulatory and Quality Knowledge Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Strict adherence to health and safety protocols, as well as industrial quality guidelines.
- Specific Regulations: Familiarity with national standards (NOMs applicable in Mexico, such as NOM-259-SSA1-2014, or the current standard for cosmetic products) and international standards (USP methods <51>, <61>, <62>; ISO standards such as ISO 17516) that govern the microbiological safety of cosmetics.
- Quality Management Systems: Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and the ISO 17025 standard for testing laboratories.
- Soft Skills Attention to Detail: Precision is essential to avoid cross-contamination and ensure reliable results.
- Organization and Planning: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize experiments, and meet production and analysis deadlines.
- Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify the source of contamination and propose effective solutions.
- Effective Communication: Ability to report critical findings to other departments (production, quality) and work effectively in a team environment.
