Winter, spring, summer, fall: giving is always in season at Henkel. But that caring spirit shines brightest at the holidays.

“Henkel employees have a history of turning their compassion into action — particularly at the holidays,” says Angela Curley, Leader – Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Citizenship. “Henkel celebrates employee volunteerism and is proud to support causes they are passionate about through our Make an Impact on Tomorrow program.”

Following are just a few ways that Henkel employees helped brighten the holidays for others in 2019.

IT’S A WRAP!

To make the holidays happy for the youngest among us, employees in the Connecticut offices collected hundreds of toys, games and more to respectively benefit Toys for Tots, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and Kids in Crisis.

Volunteers from our Bridgewater adhesives business lent a helping hand by sorting gifts for The United Way of Northern New Jersey’s Gifts of the Season program.

To help Midwestern families keep out the cold this winter, employees at Henkel’s facility in St. Louis collected coats, scarves, mittens and boots; while a giving tree supported Almost Home, a favorite local cause that empowers young mothers to become self-sufficient.

Members of the North America Legal Team collaborated to donate three boxes of toys and lift the spirits of kids at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.

HUNGRY TO HELP

In addition to providing toys and necessities, Henkel employees helped to close the hunger gap. In Irvine, California, employees donated nearly 600 food items and worked tirelessly sorting and packaging food at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

At the annual food drive in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, employees collected 715 pounds of food for Amazing Grace Pantry to help with Thanksgiving Day meals — followed by an additional 10 boxes of food collected for December holidays.

However they chose to help, Henkel employees brought hope to the holidays for those who needed it most.

In addition to donating nearly 600 food items, employees in Irvine, CA worked tirelessly sorting and packaging food at the Second Harvest Food Bank. The Irvine team also collected gifts for the Boys & Girls Club’s Winter Wonderland holiday party to provide for those who may not receive any.
